Playa de la Arena looking towards Los Gigantes, our goal. This is a very athletic walk - there are several BIG hills between our hotel and the beach at Los Gigantes. |

Discovered at the bus stop in Playa de la Arena - a poinsettia. this is a small one but they grow up to 4 metres tall and in parts of the island are little more than weeds. |

Also at the bus stop - a lovely orange lilly. |

Villas in Los Gigantes with a Canary palm. The hillside is so steep that all houses have a super sea view. |

Across the road was this "Bottle Brush Tree". It is originally from Australia but we saw them all over Tenerife. The trees grow 4 to 6 metres tall. |

Los Gigantes cliffs. There were houses and hotels behind us - in front a steep drop to the next terrace. Everyone has a super view but one has to be very fit to walk around Los Gigantes town. |

A schooner leaving Los Gigantes marina to look for whales or dolphins. We walked down to the harbour and beach but did not go in swimming after all. How does one get rid of the black sand???? |
